What to Expect on Your Fall Farm Tour

Your two-hour visit is designed to be a relaxed, family-friendly introduction to life on a working orchard. The tour begins with a warm welcome from our farm team, who will guide you through the day's activities. You'll start with a short introduction to apple farming, where we share the story of our orchard, the varieties we grow, and what makes our corner of the country so well suited to fruit trees. It's a chance to ask questions, learn a little about the season, and get oriented before we move on to the hands-on part of the afternoon.

Next, we gather around the apple press for a live cider pressing demonstration. You'll see how fresh apples are transformed into sweet, cloudy cider right before your eyes — and yes, there will be samples to taste. This is always a favorite with kids and adults alike. After the demonstration, you'll have time to explore the picnic site, relax under the trees, and simply enjoy the farm atmosphere. The tour is unhurried and conversational, so feel free to linger, take photos, and soak in the autumn air.

Apple Picking: How It Works On-Site

While apple picking is not included in your tour reservation, you are welcome to add it during your visit. We offer half-peck bags for $20, payable on-site with cash or credit card. These bags hold roughly 5–6 pounds of apples — plenty for a family snack, a pie, or a batch of applesauce. Our staff will point you to the rows that are ready for picking on the day of your tour, and we'll give you a quick rundown of which varieties are at their peak.

If you're planning to pick, we recommend bringing your own reusable bag or basket if you prefer, though our half-peck bags are sturdy and easy to carry. Keep in mind that apple availability changes throughout the season, so the varieties you pick on September 16 may differ from what's available later in the fall. The orchard team will have the most up-to-date information when you arrive.

Planning Your Visit: Arrival, Parking, and Check-In

To make the most of your afternoon, plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your 1 pm reservation. All guests must be parked and checked in 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour. When you arrive, follow the signs to the designated tour parking area. From there, head to the check-in table near the main entrance, where a staff member will greet you and verify your reservation.

You'll need your order confirmation number from Ecwid — either printed or on your phone. No paper tickets are sent, so please double-check that you entered your email address correctly when booking. If you have any trouble finding your confirmation, check your spam folder or contact us before the day of your tour. Once checked in, you'll receive a brief orientation and be introduced to your guide for the afternoon.
