What to Expect on Your Fall Farm Tour

Your two-hour guided experience begins at the farm entrance, where our team will check you in and orient you to the day’s schedule. From there, we’ll walk together through the orchard rows, pausing to discuss the varieties we grow, the rhythm of the growing season, and the ways our farm has adapted to changing weather and market demands over the years. The tour is designed to be relaxed and conversational—questions are welcome at any point, and we encourage you to engage with the trees, the fruit, and the landscape around you.

The centerpiece of the morning is a live apple cider pressing demonstration. You’ll see how whole apples are washed, ground, and pressed into fresh cider using our traditional rack-and-cloth press. Depending on the harvest, we may invite a few guests to help turn the crank or load the hopper. The cider we press on tour is for demonstration and tasting; if you’d like to take some home, bottles of our farm-pressed cider are available for purchase in the farm store after the tour.

Because the tour moves at a walking pace over uneven orchard ground, we recommend closed-toe shoes, a hat, and a water bottle. The entire route is outdoors, so please dress for the weather. In the event of heavy rain or lightning, the tour may be shortened or rescheduled at the farm’s discretion; we will contact you using the email address on your order if any changes are necessary.

Apple Picking During Your Visit

While apple picking is not included in your tour admission, we strongly encourage you to add it to your day. After the tour concludes, you’re welcome to purchase a half-peck bag on site for $20 (cash or credit card accepted) and head into the designated U-pick rows. The varieties available for picking on any given day depend on ripeness and weather, but late September typically offers a mix of Honeycrisp, Gala, and early Fuji, with later varieties coming on strong into October.

If you’d like to guarantee picking time, consider booking one of our dedicated U-pick sessions on October 1st from 1 PM to 3 PM or October 1st from 3 PM to 5 PM. These sessions include a picking bag and a shorter demonstration, and they’re a great option for families who want a more hands-on harvest experience.

Please note that U-pick bags are sold only on the day of your visit, and availability can change quickly during peak season. We recommend arriving early in your reservation window if picking is a priority. Our staff can tell you which rows are open and which varieties are at their peak when you check in.

Planning Your Arrival and Check-In

Check-in for the 10 AM tour opens at 9:30 AM and closes promptly at 10 AM. You must be parked and checked in at least 10 minutes before your reservation time, as the tour leaves the meeting area on schedule. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated, and no refunds or time transfers are allowed, so please plan your drive with extra time for weekend traffic.

When you arrive, follow the signs for “Fall Farm Tour Parking” and proceed to the check-in table near the main barn. Have your order confirmation ready—either printed or on your phone—and our staff will match your order number to the guest list. You do not need a paper ticket; the order number from your Ecwid confirmation email is all that is required.

If you’re bringing children aged 3 and under, they do not need a ticket, but they must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times. Strollers are welcome on the tour route, though the ground can be bumpy in places. Service animals are permitted; pets are not allowed in the orchard or picnic area.

Picnic Site and Farm Store

Your tour admission includes access to our picnic site for the day. The picnic area is shaded, with tables and a view of the orchard and surrounding hills. You’re welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks, or purchase snacks, cider, and baked goods from the farm store. Please pack out all trash, and note that alcohol and glass containers are not permitted.

The farm store is open during tour hours and stocks our own cider, honey, preserves, and seasonal produce, as well as a rotating selection of local goods. If you’re interested in taking home apples without picking your own, pre-bagged apples are usually available in the store. Store inventory changes daily, so ask our staff what’s fresh that morning.

For those who want to extend their visit, we offer additional tour times on other dates, including September 21 at 10 AM, September 16 at 1 PM, September 16 at 10 AM, and September 16 at 3 PM. Each tour follows the same format, so you can choose the date and time that best fits your schedule.
