What to Expect on Your Fall Farm Tour
Your two-hour visit begins the moment you park and check in at the designated tour area. We ask that you arrive at least ten minutes before your reservation time so our staff can verify your order and welcome you into the group. From there, you'll be guided through a relaxed, family-friendly experience that blends education with the simple pleasures of autumn on the farm. The tour is designed for all ages, and while the pace is leisurely, we cover a fair amount of ground—so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
The highlight for many guests is the live apple cider pressing demonstration. You'll watch as our crew loads freshly washed apples into the press and transforms them into sweet, unfiltered cider right before your eyes. We explain each step, from washing and grinding to pressing and bottling, and we're happy to answer questions about the equipment and the process. The aroma alone is worth the visit, and you'll leave with a new appreciation for a beverage that has been made on farms like ours for generations.
In addition to the cider pressing, we offer a short introduction to apple farming. This talk covers the basics of how our orchard is managed throughout the year—pruning in winter, blossom care in spring, pest and disease management in summer, and harvest in fall. You'll learn about the varieties we grow, why some apples are better for eating while others shine in pies or cider, and how weather shapes each season's crop. It's a chance to connect with where your food comes from and to ask the questions you've always wondered about.

After the demonstrations, you're welcome to enjoy our picnic site at your own pace. Bring a blanket or use one of our tables, and soak in the views of the orchard and surrounding hills. The picnic area is included with your admission, so feel free to relax and make an afternoon of it. If you'd like to pick apples, you can purchase a half peck bag on site for $20—cash or credit card accepted—and head into the designated picking rows. Please note that apple picking is not included in your entry fee, but it's a wonderful add-on that many families choose to do.
Planning Your Visit: Timing, Parking, and Check-In
Because this is a timed reservation, punctuality matters. We require all guests to be parked and checked in at least ten minutes before the 3 pm start time. This ensures we can begin the tour promptly and give everyone the full two-hour experience. Late arrivals may not be able to join the group once the tour has moved into the orchard, and we are unable to offer refunds or transfers for missed reservations, as noted in our policy.
Parking is available on site and is included with your admission. Our staff will direct you to the designated tour parking area when you arrive. Please have your proof of purchase ready—either printed or on your phone—so check-in is quick and easy. The order number from your Ecwid confirmation email is all you need; no paper tickets are sent. Double-check that you entered your email address correctly at checkout, because that's how you'll receive your confirmation.
We recommend dressing in layers, as September afternoons can be warm in the sun but cool in the shade or when the wind picks up. Closed-toe shoes are best for walking on uneven ground, and a hat or sunscreen is wise if you plan to spend time in the open areas. If rain is in the forecast, bring a light jacket or umbrella—the tour runs rain or shine, though we may adjust the route for safety.

Restrooms are available near the check-in area, and we encourage you to use them before the tour begins. The walking portion of the tour lasts about an hour, and while we do make stops, there may not be a restroom break until we return to the main area. Water bottles are permitted, and we ask that you carry out any trash or use the bins provided at the picnic site.
Apple Picking Add-On: What You Need to Know
If you'd like to pick apples during your visit, you can purchase a half peck bag on site for $20. This bag holds roughly 5–6 pounds of apples, depending on the variety and size, and is a great amount for a family to share or to use in a pie or two. We accept cash and credit cards at the farm, so you don't need to prepay for picking. However, availability of picking rows can change with the season, so we recommend asking at check-in which varieties are ready that day.
Our staff will point you toward the rows that are open for picking and give you a quick rundown of how to pick without damaging the tree or the fruit. We ask that you only pick from designated rows and that you fill only the bags you've purchased. This helps us keep the orchard healthy and ensures there's plenty of fruit for everyone. Children are welcome in the picking area, but please supervise them so they don't climb trees or throw apples.
Keep in mind that apple picking is a separate activity from the tour. The tour itself does not include time in the picking rows, but you're welcome to pick before or after your scheduled tour time. Many guests choose to arrive a little early, pick their apples, and then join the tour—or stay after the tour to pick and enjoy the picnic area. Just be aware that the farm closes at a set time, so plan accordingly.

If you're looking for a more immersive picking experience, we also offer dedicated U-pick sessions on other dates. For example, you can check out our October 1st U-pick and Demo 1 PM -3PM or October 1st U-pick and Demo 3 PM -5PM events, which combine picking with a demonstration. Those sessions are structured differently and may be a better fit if your main goal is to fill a bag with apples.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Fall Farm Tour
Is the tour suitable for young children? Yes, the tour is designed to be family-friendly, and kids aged 3 and under are free with a paying adult. The cider pressing demonstration is a big hit with little ones, and the walking distance is manageable for most children. Strollers are allowed, though the ground can be uneven in places, so a sturdy stroller is best.
Can I bring my dog? For the safety and comfort of all guests, we ask that you leave pets at home. Service animals are always welcome, but please keep them leashed and under control at all times. The orchard is a working farm, and there may be equipment, wildlife, or other animals that could be stressful for pets.
What happens if it rains? The tour runs rain or shine, but we may adjust the route or move parts of the demonstration under cover if necessary. Please dress for the weather. In the event of severe weather that forces us to cancel, we will contact you via the email address you provided at checkout with options.
Is there food available for purchase? We do not have a full café, but we often have seasonal items like apple cider donuts, fresh cider, and other treats available for sale at the farm stand, depending on the day. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks and enjoy them at the picnic site. Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted.
Can I transfer my reservation to another date? Unfortunately, all sales are final, and we cannot offer refunds or date/time transfers. This policy helps us manage group sizes and ensure a quality experience for everyone. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to give your reservation to a friend—they just need the order number to check in.
More Ways to Experience the Farm This Fall
If you enjoy this tour, you might also like our other fall events. We offer several Fall Farm Tour dates throughout September, each with the same format but different times to fit your schedule. For example, you can join us on September 21, 10 am - 12 pm Fall Farm Tour or September 16, 10 am - 12 pm Fall Farm Tour. These morning tours are a great option if you prefer cooler temperatures or have afternoon plans.
We also have afternoon and evening sessions, such as September 16, 1 pm - 3 pm Fall Farm Tour and September 16, 3 pm - 5 pm Fall Farm Tour. Each tour is identical in content, so you can choose the time that works best for you. Keep in mind that all tours require advance reservation, and popular times can sell out quickly, especially on weekends.
For those who want a deeper dive into apple picking, our U-pick and Demo events combine hands-on picking with a demonstration. Check out the October 1st U-pick and Demo 1 PM -3PM or the October 1st U-pick and Demo 3 PM -5PM for a different kind of farm experience. These sessions are limited in size and often include more time in the orchard.
Whichever event you choose, we're grateful you're spending part of your fall with us. The orchard is at its most beautiful this time of year, and we love sharing it with visitors. If you have questions that aren't answered here, feel free to reach out through our website's contact page, and we'll do our best to help. We look forward to seeing you on the farm!
